How To Clean A Toilet
Equipment Needed:
- Rubber Gloves
- Sponge / Cloth
- Karcher
- Toilet Cleaner
- Toilet Brush
- Disinfectant Cleaner
Method:
Step 1:
Remove any items that may be stood on top of the cistern.
Step 2:
Wearing rubber gloves and using a damp, hot cloth, give the toilet a wipe over, including the cistern, lid, seat and base. This helps loosen any dirt or grime, making it easier to clean properly later on.
Step 3:
Lift the lid and seat, and apply the toilet cleaner inside the rim the bowl. The cleaner will then run down the sides of the bowl.
Step 4:
Close the lid and allow the cleaner to fully sink in for a few minutes (5-10mins).
Step 5:
Using the toilet brush, thoroughly scrub the bowl, focusing on any stained areas that need particular attention.
Step 6:
Whilst scrubbing the bowl, dip your brush into the toilet water to mix the suds up, and don’t forget to give the the bottom of the bowl a good scrub too.
Step 7:
Flush the toilet to rinse out the entire bowl. If there are persistent stains, repeat the scrubbing action with the toilet brush, and flush again. Repeat this process until the stains disappear.
Step 8:
The rest of the toilet can be cleaned using a disinfectant cleaner. Spray the entire surface of the toilet, including the handle, the bowl’s exterior and base. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and wring out when necessary.
