How To Clean A Microwave
Microwaves have become an increasingly fundamental part of the kitchen, but they can easily become a breeding ground for germs and bacteria if they aren’t cleaned out thoroughly – especially when things explode or overflow in them!
Equipment Needed:
- Vinegar
- Bowl
- Dishcloth
- Paper towel
Method:
Step 1:
Remove the plate from the microwave and wash this separately in a washing up bowl with hot soapy water.
Step 2:
In a small bowl, pour equal parts of vinegar and water. For a deep clean, fill the bowl closer to the top, for a general clean, half a bowl will be plenty.
Step 3:
Turn the microwave on to heat for 5-10 minutes. It is advisable to not leave the microwave unattended during this time.
Step 4:
Once the time is up, leave the bowl stood in the microwave with the door closed for another minute or two, to let the steam circulate.
Step 5:
Following this, take the bowl out of the microwave carefully using oven gloves.
Step 6:
Soak a dishcloth in hot soapy water, wring it out and use to wipe over the inside of the microwave, removing any loose food remains or dirt that the steam has lifted.
Step 7:
Use a paper towel to dry the inside, then leave the door open for a minute or two to let the air circulate.
